Piano Lessons

More than playing piano

My approach to piano lessons results in more than being able to play the piano. Using tiered-technique learning, students receive multi-layered instruction creating a breadth of skills and understanding in both technique and music.

  • Skills and knowledge furthered by repertoire chosen from exam syllabi

  • Sight-reading and ear training

  • Theory concepts interwoven throughout lessons taking advantage of the piano as an excellent instrument to enhance theory understanding

  • Poise and expressive playing developed through recital opportunities

What Students Are Saying

Renate E

Adult Piano student

I have been with Trio Music for 7 years taking piano lessons. Margaret makes every lesson fun! She is teaching me how to have a better understanding of the music that I am playing and always encourages me to challenge myself; and to also participate in playing in Recitals which are held twice a year. I am very happy to be part of Trio Music. Thanks, Margaret.

Thomas Moore

Music, oh, how faint, how weak,
Language fades before thy spell!
Why should Feeling ever speak,
When thou canst breathe her soul so well?
Friendship’s balmy words may feign,
Love’s are even more false than they;
Oh! ’tis only music’s strain
Can sweetly soothe, and not betray.
