Trio Music is the studio of Margaret Brentnall, BA in Music with Distinction – Voice major, with a minor in Psychology.  A Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher – Advanced Specialist in both Voice and Theory; Elementary Specialist in Piano

Located in the Cedarbrae SW Calgary area, Voice, Piano and Theory/Harmony/History lessons are offered.

“I am passionate about both Music and Learning. One of my most satisfying sources of learning is through teaching music – my students teach me so much about the learning process! Although most of my students who participate in Exams and Festivals receive high marks, I believe the biggest indicator of success is the personal growth that comes in many shapes and sizes for all students. I am open to the different syles of music that peak a student’s interest including popular selections and use of technology.

Being a life-long learner, I continue to expand my expertise in the field of music through extensive personal study, literature, scholarly articles and through the various organizations that I am a member of:

Full member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers (CFMTA), Alberta

Registered Music Teachers (ARMTA – Provincial and Calgary chapters) and the

National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS – International and Calgary levels).

Motivated by her love of and passion for music, Margaret’s students find her to be a patient, engaging, enthusiastic, and encouraging teacher.

“Margaret is the best theory teacher I’ve ever had. Whether she’s building a complex chord progression or dissecting the life of a famous composer, she makes theory jump off the page and come alive! When I struggle with ideas she is incredibly patient and encouraging - she has an amazing ability to make complicated concepts easy to understand. Thank you, Margaret, for all your help!" Carmela L, Advanced Theory and History student
